Edwin Chen 陳悅安
Co-Founder
Hi! I’m Edwin, currently a freshman at Boston College majoring in Political Science and Economics. I started Kompass with the intent of giving high schoolers the opportunity to go to underserved places, domestic and international, to conduct volunteering activities that serve the needs of communities. Our organization focuses on providing long-term solutions to places in need that enhance their individual autonomy and community resilience rather than providing temporary aid. I hope that y’all find this mission inspiring and hope you can join us for one of our trips (or several). I promise you that it will be life-changing.

Hi! I’m Jerry Chen, a freshman at Carnegie Mellon University, studying Electrical and Computer Engineering with a double major in International Relations and Political Science. As one of the co-founders of Kompass Volunteering, I envision creating a platform that serves as a bridge between communities in need and students driven to make a positive impact, working together to build a better world.

Vanessa Yu 于筱陵
Co-Founder
Hi! I’m Vanessa, a rising high school senior, who wishes to study and practice international law in the future. It is with great honor that I serve as part of the Kompass team. Starting with Kenya, Malaysia, Thailand, and Cambodia, we wish to eventually be able to serve as many communities as we possibly could. We will continue to strive for sustainable solutions such as the Hydroponic System and raising awareness in hygiene. Thus, on behalf of the Kompass Team, I extend a heartfelt invitation for you to join us on this journey where we forge an impact together in joy and in grace.
